The TXR 2229 form is organized into the following sections:

  1. Notice Header and Property Identification
    Identifies the parties and the leased property subject to the termination notice.
  2. Termination Declaration
    Declares the lease termination due to significant damage from a natural disaster or catastrophe. Either the tenant or landlord checks the appropriate box to identify who is initiating the termination.
  3. Lease Termination Date and Move-Out
    Establishes that the termination is effective when sent, sets the number of days the tenant has to vacate after receiving the notice, authorizes the landlord to remove personal property if the tenant does not vacate on time, and provides standard move-out reminders including key return, forwarding address, and holdover rent liability.
  4. Signatures
    Signature blocks for both the landlord and tenant, with provision for property manager signing on behalf of the landlord.
